Blog Tour: Hers to Cherish by Patricia A. Knight

Futuristic Romance
Date Published: 8/27/13

When Ramsey DeKieran, disgraced nobleman and accused murderer, was offered a pardon Ram knew there'd be a catch. The High Lord of Verdantia offered him a clean slate in exchange for the off-world rescue of a Verdantian noblewoman – a suicide mission that had already cost the lives of good men. The one redeeming feature was the assistance of the stunning captain of Verdantia’s elite mercenary team.
For Captain Steffania Rickard, assisting DeKieran in the rescue of a woman critical to the future of Verdantia would be difficult enough. The rouge tripped all her triggers – good and bad. Infinitely worse, to fit into the culture of Vxloncia, she must pose as Ram's sex slave. The sexually dominant Ramsey was nothing if not perceptive and Steffania doubts her carefully disguised and deeply hidden desires will remain concealed.
Their mission takes on new meaning when they unmask a heinous program of enslavement, long cloaked in secrecy. Together they must find a way to overcome their initial animosity and recover a woman vital to the future of their race. Together, they would have to bring a malicious entity to justice.
In the maelstrom of sex, savagery, domination and submission, Ram and Steffania will need all their wits and strength to survive.

My Review:

Step into the Future and what a risque future this is. The D/s relationship is in now and Patricia A. Knight has done a wonderful job of putting a futuristic twist on it.

I really enjoyed each of the characters. I liked their good qualities and even their flaws. Each novel in this series is based in the same world but we get to build on relationships of characters we have met in previous books. I love series like this one. I can't wait til the next one.

The Chosen - PROMO Blitz
By Annette Gisby
M/M Fantasy Romance
Date Published: 6/15/2013

The neighbouring kingdoms of Oscia and Arcathia have been at a tentative peace for three years after centuries of warfare. Prince Severin of Arcathia has been brought up to put duty before all else and as the only son of the King and Queen, it is his duty to marry and produce an heir. His parents want him to marry an Oscian princess to cement that tentative peace. Unfortunately Severin isn't interested in princesses. Now, if he had his pick of princes that would be another matter.

Havyn has been a slave all his life. When his aptitude for wizardry is discovered, he finds himself purchased and freed by Prince Severin and apprenticed to the royal wizard, Ildar. His duty is to stay chaste to keep his powers strong, but his feelings for Severin sorely test his resolve.

With kingdoms at war, the throne hanging in the balance, magic in the air, and outside forces trying to keep them apart, can the two men find happiness together, or is duty more important than love?

Excerpt

At the large wrought iron gates, they were stopped by two guards who crossed two lances in front of them.
Halt! Who goes there?”
Chayal, is that any way to greet your prince?” growled Ildar, glaring at the guard.
By the Raven! It is you.” Chayal and the other guard sank to one knee, bowing their heads, the sun glinting off their metal helmets.
Get up, you two,” said Severin. “You know I hate all that.”
The guards got up and grinned at the party. “Kelandras going to kill you, you know that, right?” asked Chayal.
What are you on about now, Chayal?” said a female voice from behind them. The woman had dark auburn hair done in two braids hanging down over her chest. On seeing the three of them beyond the guards, she stopped dead in her tracks and just stared. Unlike any other woman Havyn had ever seen, she wasnt wearing a gown, but wore a pair of breeches and an over tunic like the guards. Whereas their tunic was white with the black raven, hers was red with a golden sword on it. A sword hung from her left hip in a leather scabbard.
Hello, Kelandra.” Severin bowed from the waist.
Dont you hello Kelandra me,” she snarled, her hands on her hips. “What got into you? You were supposed to wait for me before you went on your journey. Running off like that without your guards. Its a wonder you werent killed! Your father blames me for not going with you. He didnt want you to go without a guard.”
You were just there,” said Severin. “You know its me hes angry with.”
Kelandra, let me introduce Havyn. He is to become my new apprentice,” said Ildar. Kelandra looked at Havyn and smiled.
Forgive my bad manners, Havyn. Be welcome in Arcathia.” She crossed both arms over her chest and bowed to him. Havyn stared. No one had ever bowed to him before.
Pleased to meet you, Princess Kelandra,” said Havyn, returning the same gesture. From the way she and Severin talked to each other, Havyn guessed they were brother and sister.
Kelandra laughed. “Oh, Im no princess, Havyn.”
Kelandra is a Daughter of the Sword,” said Ildar. “Shes one of Prince Severins bodyguards.”
girl bodyguard?” blurted Havyn before he could stop himself.
She laughed again. “Indeed, Havyn. You have a lot to learn about Arcathia.”
Kelandra, can you take Havyn to my mother? He was injured and may need some more tending,” said Severin. I had better face my father.”

About the Author:

Annette Gisby grew up in a small town in Northern Ireland, moving to London when she was seventeen. Being a very small town there were no bookshops and a small library. When she'd devoured every book she could get her hands on in the library, she started writing her own stories so she would always have something to read later.

When not writing she enjoys reading, cinema, theatre, walks along deserted beaches or wandering around ruined castles (great places for inspiration!) New Zealand is her favourite place and she hopes to travel back there one day. She's a fan of Japanese Manga and Anime and one day hopes to learn Japanese.

She currently lives in Hampshire with her husband, a collection of porcelain dolls and stuffed penguins and enough books to fill a small library. It's diminishing gradually since the discovery of ebooks but still has a long way to go.

The perfect vampire, Lilith Bradshaw, becomes an eye-opening example of how far the Alliance will go to serve their own destructive ends. The world around Jaycie plummets into darkness, and betrayals from the past threaten to undo them all.

My Review:

This is a series that continuously keeps the reader on their toes. Just when you think everything is going okay, bam, another twist/surprise. Natasha Larry has done a great job of keeping things interesting throughout these three books.

Its great to see how Jacycie's powers have changed over the course of the novels. There is a lot of action in this one and its really stepped up from the previous novels.

I think this series is great for many ages. It reads a bit on the young - YA side, but I as an adult thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

EXCERPT

My feet start to move quickly as I travel down through old buildings toward the bar. In a few short minutes, I make my way to the parking lot where I need to stop to catch my breath. The heat is sucking all the air from my lungs along with my guilt for what I’ve done. When I pull open the door I can hear Darcie screaming at Drake at the same time that Reggie is restraining his arms, pinning them behind his back. His eyes meet mine and they break all over again. I have to save him. I can’t bring him down with all the ugliness growing inside of me.
I slowly walk through the bar and keep my eyes solely on his. Darcie is turning her anger to me, but I shut it down because only Drake matters in this moment. No one else. I reach into my pocket and pull the small white pill from its depths. Placing it in the palm of my hand, I show him exactly what it is and his bloodshot, drunken eyes meet mine, slowly. Reggie releases his hold on Drake, allowing him to lower his arms to his sides.
“What’s that?”he asks with a slurred tongue as he shrugs his shoulders, loosening them from the tension inflicted by Reggie.
“I didn’t do it. I was waiting for something good to stop me, and then…there you were. You are more important to me than my own life and I can’t hurt you by doing this,” I whisper as I pick up the pill and place it in his sweaty hand.
His eyes focus slowly on the pill. He turns it over with his fingers in his hand, the confusion apparent as he studies the small white tablet. He can’t even look at me and I don’t blame him. I’ve ruined any trust he’s had in me and I deserve it. I’ve only been hiding from reality for a long time. Drake tips his hand to the side, allowing the pill to drop to the floor. As it hits the ground, Drake lifts his booted foot then slams it onto the tile. He twists his heel, grinding the pill into a fine white powder.
He slowly lifts his head and looks over to Reggie. “So now you know,” he says then he pushes past me, brushing his arm against mine as he walks out on all of us. ~Presley Quinn, Tragic Love

Cover Reveal: Another Chance

Another Chance - Cover Reveal
Ariadne Wayne
Contemporary Romance

Cassie Warren’s world falls apart when Patrick, the first and only boy she’s ever loved cheats on her. It takes time to mend a broken heart but she meets and falls in love with Mark, promising to love him for the rest of her life.

When the unthinkable happens, Patrick is there to help her pick up the pieces. Can she forgive what happened all those years ago?

EXCERPT

She had just started to drift off when her mobile phone buzzed on the cabinet beside the bed. Sighing, she picked it up to see if it was important.
Are you awake? Came the text from Patrick.
Cassie chewed her bottom lip. Should she reply or ignore it? What could he possibly want? She’d made her feelings clear to him, that she wasn’t prepared to make a decision. Fear gripped her stomach and a wave of nausea washed over her. What if Lauren had made her move after Cassie had left and Patrick was no longer waiting for her?
She closed her eyes and swallowed hard, curiosity beating out nerves as she tapped her reply.
I’m awake, what do you want?
  You came the response
She frowned, now he was going to play games with her emotions. All these years she’d never gotten over her first love. Mark had been the love of her life, she’d been sure of that but with Patrick around again suddenly she wasn’t sure.
Don’t play with me she sent back
If we played you’d never want to leave my bed came the reply
Cassie snorted, Patrick was gorgeous as he always had been and knew it. Now he seemed to be somehow convinced that bragging about his sexual prowess would impress her. Oh who was she kidding? Of course it did.
She’d only ever slept with two men in her life. Patrick and their fumbled first and only coupling, neither of them experienced enough to know any better. Mark had more knowledge in that area and made her purr with the pleasurable sensations he’d provided. He’d known exactly how to touch her, something she struggled with herself.
The thought of Patrick wanting her made her tingle. Everything about him said sexy and she was sure he could make her scream now. It scared her to think that way.

My Review:
This was a quick read for me with a great message. I had not read anything quite like this before but I love the aspect of Interracial relationships before it was common, it really shows how far the world has come. There are a lot of emotions you will run through while reading this book and G.S. Carr does a great job of penning a very compelling and gripping story.
