Vacationing at a gay resort is risky business for Winter Media’s CEO, Graham Winters. In negotiations for the purchase of an anti-LGBTQ publication, if found out he preferred men, the deal would collapse, along with Winter Media’s bottom line. But take a risk, Graham does. He can’t pass up two weeks where he can be himself.

But when Graham arrives at Secretus, there is no record of his reservation. Never one to take no for an answer, he coerces the owner of Secretus, Chris Katsaros, to let him stay in Chris’s home.

Winter Media owns one of the worst gossip rags in the country, so Chris has no choice but to agree to Graham’s terms. Chris keeps a low profile when it comes to Secretus, securing a safe environment where high profile gays can relax without media hounding their every move. An introvert by nature, Chris has a difficult time letting anyone into his life. As a foster kid, he had never experienced love until adopted by Pete and Bob.

Forced to entertain Graham, Chris finds they have more in common than he ever thought. The attraction between them is real, and Chris’s guarded heart begins to thaw.

Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Writing the middle section of a story. The beginning is always exciting, the first words on the page inspiring. Then as the story progresses, the characters get stubborn and want to go in another direction. I have to rein in their ambitions! And, keeping the situations fresh becomes more challenging. More and more, I’m writing ‘sweeter’ stories, yes with sex scenes, but not as many.

What songs are most played on your Ipod?

This changes over time. Right now I haven’t been listening to songs on my iPhone. I bought a new car and have Sirius XM radio. My set channels are 60’s rock, 70’s rock, 80’s rock, Symphony Hall, Beatles channel…yes, I’m very old school.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

The past few years, I’ve been writing with Vina Grey. We’re always bouncing ideas off each other. I have a young, male friend who writes Sci/Fi. He’s my beta reader, and since he’s gay, he critiques my sex scenes. His biggest complaint, my characters talk too much during sex! I try to explain that I’m writing romance and I need to focus on how my men are feeling. LOL

What book are you reading now?

I just finished reading A Gentleman In Moscow and a biography about Peggy Guggenheim. I belong to two book clubs – one is literary fiction and the other is an art/history book group. I fell in love with the main character in A Gentleman In Moscow – Count Alexander Rostov.
.
How did you start your writing career?

I started my career when I was a kid. I loved pretending more than playing with toys. I would make up characters, and places and stories, and then act them out. I lived in my own imaginary world. As I grew older, I never thought about being a writer, but being creative had always been an important part of my life. I have an art degree, and I’m a visual artist, as well as an art instructor. Writing came much later in life, just for fun.

Loose ID will (hopefully) publish the final book of my Kresnik/Vampire Chances series. No Chance is ready to be sent to my editor. The story stars Stu and Cor’s Uncle Viktor, who had a bit part in the second book, Fighting Chance. Viktor’s story languished in my hard drive for years. Even though it’s been ages since the last book came out, I really, really wanted to complete the series. I love the Kresnik world I had created from Slavic myths and tales. So I hope that my readers will enjoy revisiting Viktor’s world.

PS: A book that I co-wrote with Vina Grey, Long, Tall Cowboy, has been sent to a publisher for consideration. We are keeping our fingers crossed, and if it is chosen for publication, then this book should be out early next year.
