Life today is scary, complicated, and hard to get right. So much conflicting information is at our fingertips, and society shows the results of everyone choosing their own version of "good."

This year-long daily devotional doesn't just talk about God; it takes us directly to God and His inspired words in the Bible. Many think the Bible is archaic and out of touch with life today. But you will discover in these devotionals that the Bible is a great read, full of real people in real time navigating real situations.

The Bible uncovers God's heart for us. He has given us tools and strength for our lives today. The Bible reveals God's patience and perspective. Most importantly, it leads us to Jesus, God's Son, and the plan that reconciled broken, imperfect people to God. Because Jesus paid the penalty for our wrong choices, we can live confidently-loved, empowered, and forgiven by God. Life today is scary, complicated, and hard to get right. So much conflicting information is at our fingertips, and society shows the results of everyone choosing their own version of "good."

Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Carving out huge chunks of time to study and write. When I first started writing, I worked full time and had two of my three kids still at home.

What songs are most played on your Ipod?

Christian Music - Mercy Me, Amy Grant, Lauren Daigle, Crowder, Praise & Worship. Secular Music – 70’s and some late 60’s music, James Blunt, Bruno Mars.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

I belonged to a writer’s group, which was encouraging and constructive. I also had a couple of friends and my sister who read and critiqued as I was writing.

What book are you reading now?

I’m re-reading “Extreme Ownership” by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin (I read books my kids recommend and we discuss them), “The Singer” by Calvin Miller, and “We Were Soldiers Once & Young” by Joseph L. Galloway. I just finished for the third time “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr - Amazing!

How did you start your writing career?

I just fell into it. My Bible study leader asked me to do a Christmas devotional and everyone loved it. Then I was asked to write a Bible study and plays for the children’s Vacation Bible School, which led to me writing two plays for adults, “The Living Supper,” where Leonardo Davinci’s Last Supper came alive. Make-up artists from the Pageant of the Masters did the make-up, so it ended up being an incredible experience! Someone saw the play and asked me to write a devotional for a private foster home. God’s fingerprints are all over my process!

Tell us about your next release.

Well, I don’t have an answer for you on this one. This is my first publish and I’m trying to just be present in it all. But I have been getting little inspirational tingles for a “next” devotional!
