Sent to live with her strict, aloof, and uncaring uncle after her parents are killed in a car accident, twelve-year-old orphan Alyssa McCarthy longs for the life she used to have—one filled with fun and love. Then one stormy night, a message appears in the raindrops on the window that will change everything.

"Your life will never be the same again, as magic will interfere."

Before long, Alyssa is kidnapped by Master Beau, a banished sorcerer with a mysterious connection to her who can only regain his power by weakening hers. Suddenly hurled into a world of wizardry filled with fantastical beasts and marvelous technology beyond her wildest imagination, Alyssa must defeat Master Beau if she ever wants to get home again. But Master Beau will stop at nothing, including using Alyssa’s friends, to ensure he is triumphant.

INTERVIEW

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Getting the plot down, remembering to keep up with them, and not getting bored with them.

What songs are most played on your Ipod?

I play songs on my phone. It depends on my mood and what I am considering.

The most recent ones I’ve played the most were:

“Cat’s in the Cradle”

“The Rainbow Connection”

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

No, I don’t.

What book are you reading now?

I had to read and review books for a grad school class. I’m not sure what to read next.

How did you start your writing career?

When the idea of a character from my childhood imagination popped into my head while taking a shower back in 2009.

Tell us about your next release.

I’ve been slow with it due to personal issues. But it’s going to be about chaos happening, and the possibility of my main character going insane against her will.
