Interview

Can you tell us a little about the process of getting this book published? How did you come up with the idea and how did you start?

I was inspired by the visit of dear friends at the beginning of the year. As mentioned in this excerpt from the book:-

At the beginning of the year, 2025, very dear friends, Linda and Ems, visited from England. As always, we shared wonderful, meaningful conversations, one of which took place in the sunshine on the terrace of Fraise et Chocolat in Roquebrune Village, in the South of France.

Ems asked us what our word for the year was. Linda replied first.

“Gratitude.” I said that same word had come into my head, too.

Ems added her word next. “Rest.”

However, she did not feel comfortable with that because it did not truly reflect how she felt about the year ahead. She wanted to express not feeling compelled to be doing. I reminded her that we are not human DOings, but human BEings, and that led us to the word that truly resonated for us all – BEING. Indeed, it inspired me to fill the opening page of my 2025 diary with all the BEING that the year can bring, and every year thereafter. Including being grateful, bringing us back to Linda and my first thought on that sunny terrace in January. And being restful, to incorporate Ems first thought, too.

I then wrote the book based on all the BEING I had thought of to help people as they go through the weeks and months ahead with simple lessons of BEING. As they read, I hope they enjoy BEING guided and supported.

What surprised you most about getting your book published?

I am delighted that it all happened very speedily, and it has been so well received. Bestseller in so many categories all over the world on Amazon. Clearly there is a need for the guidance in the book, as I thought.

Tell us a little about what you do when you aren’t writing

I am a Communication Coach, and I help people to communicate effectively both in person and online, with confidence and power. I am also an MC and Speaker.

As a published author, what would you say was the most pivotal point of your writing life?

Obtaining best seller status on Amazon for both my published books, mostly over night on release of the books!

Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?

Often in bed at night before going to sleep. I think it is because I have the chance to let my mind wander then.

What is the toughest criticism given to you as an author?

Happily, I have not received any tough criticism! Only very positive feed forward from my Book Editor and beta readers.

What has been your best accomplishment as a writer?

To express my vulnerabilties, my true self and personal experiences in order to help other people through their vulnerabilty, and be true to themselves, and cope with changes in their lives. Learning from my experience.

How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

None. My two books have been written and published.
