In a city of millions, the probability of chance and all of its mathematical outcomes should never have brought Jake and Zara together.

Jake never forgot the beautiful, exotic eyes of his first love. They haunt his dreams and make him look twice at every woman he meets. Then, in a twist of fate, when he jumps to the rescue of the gorgeous jogger he has been admiring for weeks, one look into Zara's eyes brings him back to her, even if it's only all the sweet memories.

It has taken Zara years to finally be happy with who she is, working her dream job as a counselor to special needs teenagers and having fun with her crazy group of friends. However, she has never forgiven herself for that fateful night when she was a teenager. The night that changed the course of so many lives. The night she learned unconditional love isn't always so unconditional. Now, years later, in the clutches of a devil dog's jaw, Zara has only one regret. That he will never know the truth.

She can't change the sins of her past, but can her sexy hero lead her to a new future? Can she finally leave the past where it belongs-in the past? Or, will old secrets threaten her new, budding love?

Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

The hardest part about writing for me is there isn’t enough hours in the day. I am self-published which means I have to do all the work myself. I love to write and would love nothing more than to sit and write for eight hours but I have to all the administrative work and keep my website running and current. I also like control over my cover pictures and my next book I actually took my own photo for the cover because it was personal and very specific. I have learned that I absolutely hate keeping up with social media.

What songs are most played on your Ipod?

When I started writing I was totally a rock chick but one of my characters liked country music so I started listening and now I’m hooked and can’t get of enough of new country. I’m not allowed to play it in the house so I secretly listen non-stop on my phone and in my office.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

Yes, I share my office with another author. We started out together and learned the process together. We send each other our chapters and give input and feedback. But because we are both authors we tend to give feedback on how we would write a scene. So neither of us gets offend if we don’t take all of the suggestions that are given.

What book are you reading now?

I am an avid reader. I read two to three books a week. Currently I am reading an amazing book. The book is called Dares, Lies & Geminis by Kat Alexander. I have to admit I’m hooked and dying to finish it. Not only is there not enough minutes during my work day, when I get hooked on a good book I stay up way later then I should. I even read a chapter at five a.m. before my walk with the dog this morning.

How did you start your writing career?

For fourteen years I worked in a school with teenagers with multiple disabilities and was raising four sons. My son’s grew up and I found I had a lot of spare time at night and weekends. I needed to escape a very demanding and emotional career. So I wrote my first book in secret in the evenings and weekends. The escape was amazing and I incorporated special needs teenagers into my first series. I was writing hoping to get people to see these amazing kids through a different set of eyes and the people that dedicate their lives to helping them. My Beloved Past actually takes place in a facility for special needs teenagers. I hope the reader falls in as much love with these character of kids as I did with the ones I worked with.

My next release is very near and dear to my heart. It is called Consequences of Being JoJo. It is about a physiotherapist that works at the center for special needs teenagers. At twenty-nine she loses control of her life and becomes anorexic. The story is about her recovery and the man that helps her. It is a story I’m passionate about because my goddaughter is a survivor and she allowed me to use her diaries while she was hospitalized for research. It is not her story but I could never have had the insight of how my character Jocelyn would feel without that research. In fact my goddaughter was the model on the cover. I am so excited about this book. It will be released in late June.
