What is the hardest part of writing
your books?
As my “day job,” I’m a line editor at a publishing company.
So the hardest thing for me is to disconnect that part of my brain when I’m
writing. When I write with Editor Me looking over my shoulder, I am not
productive. I get caught up in things like “I just started three sentences with
the same word. I need to go back and change it.” When I do that, I take myself
out of the story, which makes it terribly difficult to jump back in and
refocus.
What songs are most played on your
Ipod?
Oh, I have an entire “romance” playlist on Spotify that I
play on a loop when I’m writing particularly lovey-dovey scenes. I won’t list
all 30 songs on it, but I’ll give you the first five:

When I’m not writing, my music switches to something I can

Do you have critique partners or beta
readers?
I do! My best critic and beta reader is my best friend
Stacey. She is awesome at offering advice and telling me what works and what
doesn’t. She is not a writer, so
hearing her opinions from a reader’s point of view is incredibly helpful.
What book are you reading now?
I always have at least two books going, usually a romantic
suspense and a cozy mystery because those are my favorite genres. I’m currently
reading Winters Heat (Titan #1) by
Cristin Harber, and Twenty-Nine and a
Half Reasons (Rose Gardner Mystery #2) by Denise Grover Swank.
How did you start your writing career?
I’ve been writing for years, but I never had the courage to
submit anything. A good friend of mine (author Nicole Michaels) sat me down and
really kicked me in the butt. She had read some of my stuff, and she was the
one who encouraged me to quit pussyfooting around and submit my work. I
submitted my first book last summer, which was picked up by Evernight
Publishing, and now I’m working on my eighth book! Don’t ever be afraid to
follow your dream!!

I've been writing all my life, and I honestly can't remember a time when I wanted to do anything but write. After many years spent suffering the trials of corporate America and writing about everything from financial risk management to software user manuals to website copy about radiators (sadly, I'm not kidding), I decided take the plunge and start writing books.
I love a good love story with super hot alpha males, strong heroines, a little humor, and a lot of suspense. Sprinkle in some sexual fantasies and a few BDSM aspects, and Boom! These are only a few of the themes you'll find in my books.
When I'm not writing, I'm probably at Starbucks, or fighting evil with the help of my husband, two children, and our houseful of animals.
