From the depths of tragedy it might well be that anything is possible. ‘Words on Paper’ is moving story based on a real life tragedy that divided strangers even further apart. However, for them, aside from all the pain, is a hope that life still has potential, and the reminder that in life sometimes two minuses make a plus. Emma and Will have nothing in common other than a mutual tragedy and a pain they share from a different perspective. All things are achievable but the fates are fickle and their lives are on hold as they travel the rocky road that could lead from tragedy to contentment.
What is the hardest part of writing your
books? The most challenging is learning
to understand your characters and making certain that they are not just an
extension of yourself. Never ever let the characters be informed or guided by
what I would do in their circumstances.
What songs are most played on your Ipod? I love to have my music on shuffle; not
knowing if I’m going to get Eminem or Beethoven in the next track keeps me on
my toes.
Do you have critique partners or beta
readers? Yes, four in total – all female
of various ages and ethnicity.
What book are you reading now? Just finished reading ‘Where the Crawdads Sing,” which I enjoyed. Quite inspirational that
such a flawed piece of writing could sell 5 million copies! Moved on to ‘The Sea,’ by John Banville which is
beautifully written, but quite depressing.
How did you start your writing career? My partner forced me to go to a Creative
Writing course.
Tell us about your next release. I am halfway through the third thriller in
the Pin-up and Tanner series, provisionally entitled Out of Hand. Depending on the reaction that Words on Paper receives I have an idea for another novel in a
similar style.
