INTERVIEW
Tell Me About You
I'm a co-owner at a recruiting firm called Strategic Talent Acquisition: A Recruiting Firm. Beyond that, I'm also the founder of the Steven Spectrum Career Project, where we provide workforce training and resources for the neurodivergent community in Queens, NY. In my spare time, I'm an author passionate about sharing stories that matter.
My journey as an author has been quite an adventure! I find inspiration in topics that resonate with me deeply, like diversity, mental health, neurodiversity, and faith. Regarding my writing process, I like to start with good old-fashioned pen and paper. I spend days free writing, letting my thoughts flow onto the page. Once my mind feels clear, I dive into outlining, deciding on the message I want to convey and how I want the story to unfold. Then, it's all about crafting and editing until the words feel right.
Tell me about your Book
Let me tell you about my book! It's called Jacob's Melody: Harmony In Autism, and it's a heartwarming children's story that celebrates the power of music in the life of a young boy named Jacob, who is autistic. Through Jacob's journey, readers will discover how music becomes a source of comfort and self-expression for him, helping him navigate the challenges of social interactions and communication. There is also a Caregiver section highlighting music's benefits for children.
Any message for our readers
To all the readers and parents out there, I want to convey a message of hope and understanding. Through Jacob's story, I hope to shine a light on the incredible impact that music can have on individuals with autism and all children while also encouraging parents to explore different forms of therapy for their children. I am not a music therapist; I am just an advocate of alternative forms of treatment.
Story.
The story I want to highlight revolves around Jacob's journey with music therapy. It's a testament to the transformative power of music in the life of a child with autism and all children, showcasing how it can unlock new avenues of expression and connection.
