INTERVIEW
S.R. WYATT
I’m very grateful to be with you today. Thank you for helping me share my firefighter books.
What is the hardest part of writing your books?
I’m glad for Character Sketches. But I procrastinate when it comes to completely filling them out. Then while I’m writing, I need details that aren’t on the character sheets. So I need to stop and figure that out before I can continue. Ha. Plotting takes time, and still struggle with that.
What are your most played songs?
I love oldies. But I like all types of music from Rock to Country. Most of the time I listen to Motown, Foreigner, American, Nickelback. Billy Joel – A Matter of Trust. James Taylor – everything he sings.
Do you have critique partners or beta readers?
I was in a critique group once. I changed my writing so many times then realized the others in the group were starting out like me. I appreciated their opinion, but found the advice I’d been given was conflicting with some editors. I welcome ALL beta readers. It’s great to hear someone’s opinion of my finished product, and you never know – someone may catch a blooper.
What book are you reading now?
I didn’t care much for vampire books until I read J.R. Ward. Her Black Dagger Brotherhood Books were outstanding. Lately I’ve been reading some really racy books. My favorite is Drive.
How did you start your writing career?
When I was in elementary school I would make up stories. As I got older, I wrote a lot of poems. My husband was in the military and we traveled all over the US and abroad. When we finally settled down in Virgina, I decided to pick up writing again. It took me years to get the courage, and the time, to get my first book completed.
Tell us about your next release.
My next release will be the final book in “The Firefighters of Station #8.”
Each book in the saga feature a firefighter and a passionate love story all his own. Together, the hero and heroine overcome their inner conflicts to achieve love completely unaware there is a more dangerous peril—one man’s revenge.
Book 5 is COOPER – The shocking story of his past comes to light and the thrilling capture of the man who has been targeting the firefighters at Station #8.
