Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

I love to write. The words flow easily for me. The ideas are always abundant. The hardest part for me I lack the technical computers skills, younger people possess. I am improving slowly. I was born too early.

What are your most played songs?

My "Devin And The Devil" Book is based on the song Someone's Knocking by Terri Gibb. I favor Motown, and songs of the late 60's and early 70's.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

Too many I fear. I write on a large writing site. My editors and co-writers often make suggestions and critics. I am an editor there as well. Too may views for me.

What book are you reading now?

I just finished a book by Louise Penny, as part of her Detective Gamache series. I like Nora Roberts for fantasy, and I am devoted to Stephen King...

How did you start your writing career? I have always written. My father wrote several unfinished novels. I wrote a daily blog as well. Finally my son said, "What are you waiting for, go write your book", so I did. it is called "Standing at Heaven's Doorstep.

Tell us about your next release.

After Devin And The Devil which is a Romantasy, I am writing a book of my Father's war years as a prisoner of war, and a Jewish soldier captured by the Germans.

EXCERPT

"Over here."

There was an impatient huff before a woman said, "I thought you said you knew where it was."

Leah Spencer paused in the act of replacing a book into its proper Dewey decimal order on the shelf. She looked around but didn't see anyone. Still, the sounds of heavy breathing were coming from a nearby location.

"I do. It's right here." Teeth of a zipper were parted.

"That is not what I'm looking for." This time instead of sounding aggrieved, the female's voice dripped with amusement.

Oh, crap. Not again. Her section of the library had to be the hottest make out spot on campus lately.

"Suck me," a male voice hissed.

"Like this?"

"Oh, yeah. That's it."

He started to moan. Wet sounds slipped between the logically ordered tomes to reach Leah's ears. Her face heated, and so did her feminine core.

"Lick it."

Apparently his lover complied because inarticulate encouragement ensued. Leah considered peeking around the spines to catch a glimpse of their faces so she could give a description to campus security, but as soon as she moved, the book in her hands rasped against the ones on the shelf at her waist.

"What was that?" the woman asked, suspicious.

Leah froze, her heart beating frantically at the thought of being discovered. It would certainly get her fired if the administration learned she'd been listening to, rather than interrupting, the copulating couple. Assuming, of course, that she survived the humiliation of being labeled a sexual voyeur.

"It's nothing. Ignore it," her partner replied.

"I really think --"

He cut her off. "No one ever comes up here. No one except people like us. Might get crowded, but we're not going to get in trouble."

His partner seemed reassured by his explanation. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Safe for the moment, Leah carefully stepped out of her shoes so her feet wouldn't make a sound as she dashed down the main corridor, away from the action. Once she'd reached her miniscule office, she picked up the phone and dialed a number she knew by heart.

"It's happening again," Leah said as soon as Campus Security Detective Samuel Zheng answered.

"Damn. That makes the fourth time today."

The husky tenor of his voice jumpstarted the lust already simmering in her veins. Leah wished she were brave enough to intimately touch herself during one of these conversations. So far, she hadn't dared. But to come to the sound of his voice, to be that close to him whether he knew it or not, would be... would be... pathetic.

"Leah?"

She sighed, dismissing the fantasy and zeroing in on reality. "Yeah, I'm here."

"I'm on my way. Don't let them leave."

Right, she thought as the dial tone echoed in her ear. Even if Sam ran the whole way, it would take him ten minutes to arrive. She was a five-foot-nothing couch potato. How was she supposed to restrain two healthy adults if they were determined to go? Keep them riveted with a discourse on the finer points of fellatio?

Assuming they hadn't already left, she'd have to stay where she could monitor them. Listening to their passionate directives. Picturing them...

Enough!

As quietly as she could, Leah tiptoed back to her hiding place. Again, somehow she betrayed her presence. Damn Sam for asking her to do his job!

"There's another noise," the woman hissed. "Someone's coming."

"No one is coming but me, baby. Suck me a little harder, would ya?"

The woman chuckled softly. "Mmm, you're such a big boy. Gonna have to find something special to do for you." In the quiet, close quarters, Leah detected the rustle of fabric, followed by the snick of a bra being undone. "How about this, stud? Does it do anything for you?"

"That... is so... hot."

Images of what they might be doing flickered through Leah's mind. She closed her eyes. Their out-of-sync heavy breathing fueled the white-hot lust pulsing between her legs. She envisioned a pair of plump breasts surrounding a hard shaft, the rosy head peeking up from the deep, lily-white valley.

"Gonna let me fuck you?" the guy panted out.

"No, I want you to come like this. All over my breasts."

"Oh, yeah."

The smell of sex permeated the air. Leah's clit throbbed. She didn't want to risk moving around too much for fear of scaring them off, but she had to do something to soothe the ache in her swollen clit. Using the only option that came to mind, Leah placed a heavy tome between her legs. As quietly as possible, she ground against it so the rigid spine rode over her pussy, sending ripples of pleasure through her body.

People often teased her about getting off on books, but this was the first time she'd actually attempted it. The thought almost made her giggle, but she choked it off.

"That's it. Fuck my tits, stud."

"Gonna come," he announced.

"Do it for me. Do it now."

Leah was near the edge herself. As he grunted through his climax, Leah rubbed the book between her legs. Given the volume's size, it took both hands although she badly wished one were free to pluck at her pebbled nipples.

She'd never felt so wanton in her life. She imagined semen coating the woman's breasts, his hands rubbing it in. Her mouth licking him clean. All the while, her BOB substitute stroked her into a frenzy of wet, hot need.

"Here, let me get that." Whatever the man's offer entailed, his partner seemed to enjoy it. Her cry of pleasure triggered Leah's release. It wasn't the best orgasm of her life, but her reaction was intensified by the fact that she'd made it happen at all. In the library. Where she could have been caught at any second.

What in the hell had she been thinking?

As she pondered the depths of her recent depravity, the lights overhead dimmed for a full ten seconds, then brightened again. It signaled the five-minute warning before the staff started herding students out of Loveland College Library. Shit! Where was Sam?

Rituals and Relics, Book One

Romantasy

Date Published: February 14, 2026

She was born a rarity.

Lysandra has spent her life in a silk cage, dancing for a monster who sees her hybrid blood as the key to tearing open the veil between worlds. She is half-Fae, half-mortal, a living anomaly trained to suppress every flicker of power that could expose what she truly is.

Then they send a Destroyer to end her.

Rylan is the Order's most lethal weapon, forged without mercy, raised without attachment, sworn to eliminate hybrid corruption wherever it breathes. His mission is simple: observe, confirm, and execute.

But some targets refuse to be prey.

When the tether breaks and Lysandra's power erupts beyond all control, she and Rylan are thrown into a deadly alliance that will force them both to betray everything they were made to be. He will break sacred oaths. She will shatter the chains of her gilded prison. Together, they will ignite a love so consuming it will literally rewrite the laws of death.

Midnight Ballerina is a dark romantasy of obsession, sacrifice, and a bond forged in blood and shadow, where the monster you were raised to fear becomes the only one who sees you as more than a weapon.

For readers who crave: Fae romantasy, mortal/immortal romance, possessive heroes, powerful heroines, found family, he-falls-first, and love that burns worlds.

Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Revising, definitely. Keeping the pacing consistent while still expanding scenes and world building can be a challenge, especially because I’m not naturally a very descriptive writer. Balancing it with my vet work is also tough. I’m in the middle of a surgical residency at the moment and it’s pretty full on, so creative time has taken a hit. I’ve got a lot of ideas waiting for when things calm down a bit.

The hardest part mentally is the insecurity that comes with trying to stand out, and marketing. I want to write books that people actually enjoy and connect with, and that pressure can feel heavy sometimes. Actually trying to sell products and be influencer adjacent is not natural for me and so has been a big adjustment.

What are your most played songs?

When I’m writing I usually avoid lyrics, because they pull my brain in two directions at once. I like soundtracks, instrumental music, that sort of thing. Viking-style metal is great when I need energy, and ambient scores help me stay focused. The one exception is Beautiful is Boring by Bones UK, which I used to play constantly while writing Lucere, the demon character in The Lavender Blade. It’s got this swaggering, self-obsessed feel that fits him perfectly, like he’s admiring himself in the mirror and enjoying every second of it.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

I work with an editor, and my mom also helps with editing. Every now and then I’ll send a few chapters to friends, though I know it’s a big commitment to read and give feedback in detail.

Having a good editor is so critical to writing; she challenges me and gives me the tools I need to be a better writer every time I start a project.

What book are you reading now?

A friend lent me Lord Foul’s Bane by Stephen R. Donaldson. I’m trying to get through it but the main character is a pervy creep who complains all the time. You know when someone you like recommends a book or a YouTube video and you really want to enjoy it for their sake, but it’s painful? It’s a bit like that. It’s from the late seventies and you can tell. I’m also reading Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski, which I’m enjoying a lot more. It’s beautifully written and much more my style.

How did you start your writing career?

I just wrote. I’ve been writing almost every day since I was about thirteen. It’s how I process things, how I understand people, and it’s always been the most natural way for me to be creative. Eventually those stories became books, and eventually some of them felt good enough to publish. I wouldn’t say I have a “career” exactly, since I’m still a small indie author, but I’m learning and trying to build something one book at a time.

Tell us about your next release.

I’d love to write a sequel to The Lavender Blade, to expand the world a little bit and delve deeper into the actual magic in Colton’s heritage.  I want to dig deeper into world building this time and create a setting that feels dark, new, and alive. I’m excited to keep exploring, plus I miss my little goofballs.

The Lonely Raven Trilogy, Book One

Fantasy / Romance

Date Published: February 11, 2025

Publisher: Clay Bridges Press

Fallon has received premonitions since she was a child—visions that have driven her to steer countless strangers and acquaintances from looming dangers. But these powers have come at a great cost. After enduring heart-wrenching losses during her teenage years, Fallon has lived a solitary life for over a decade, her only anchor being her childhood best friend.

That is, until a series of intense premonitions draws a group of new people into her life, people who start to feel like family. But something deeper is stirring. The raven tattoo on her wrist has begun to tingle, and a raven has started appearing in her visions. Worse still, Fallon is haunted by the memory of someone from her past, someone she loved, and she believes abandoned her—a person to whom the raven seems inexplicably tied.

As the visions grow more urgent, Fallon must decipher their meaning to protect those she cares about. But the question lingers: Is the raven a guide or a harbinger of doom?

In this gripping first installment of “The Lonely Raven Trilogy,” Fallon must face the shadows of her past to safeguard the future of those she loves—and discover whether the raven is an ally or a threat.

Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

The hardest part of writing is finding a quiet place in my house to write. Writing itself is usually never a problem. I love my family but I do dream of a quiet cabin on a mountaintop.

What are your most played songs?

The music I listen to most while writing this trilogy is definitely Foo Fighters and Slash’s band with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Specifically for Foo Fighters: “I Should Have Known” and “Everlong”.

For SMKC: “Lost Inside the Girl”, “You’re a Lie” and “Starlight”.

I also listened to a lot of Chris Cornell’s solo stuff while working on Book One.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

I let a lot of people read The Secret Girl before I made the decision to publish. During that process I determined two readers who were the most useful in their critiques and ideas. So, they are now my beta readers for Book Two. One of them is a therapist and I feel like she has all of my characters in therapy, asking deep questions which make me look at aspects of the story from different angles.

What book are you reading now?

I can’t read while I’m trying to finish up a project (I’m putting the final touches on Book Two) but I am nearly done with Iron Flame and I had just begun Book of Doors by Gareth Brown.

How did you start your writing career?

I’ve been writing since I was 8, but I was always too uncertain of myself to attempt to get published. I tried a few times over the years but I just didn’t possess the courage. When I turned 50 last year a switch flipped and I knew I needed to get my writing out into the world ASAP. A good friend is involved in a hybrid publishing company and we got to work on getting The Lonely Raven trilogy ready for publication.

Tell us about your next release.

Coming up later this year is Book Two in The Lonely Raven Trilogy. Fallon Quinn will be forced to confront her past and will learn the truth about her magic and her future.
