What is the hardest part of writing
your books?
The hardest
part is probably the third draft or so, where I’m fine tuning everything and
doing my best to make sure it all fits together, including that the timeline is
correct and I haven’t made any noticeable continuity errors.
What songs are most played on your
Ipod?
Actually, I don’t
own an Ipod, but in terms of my favorite stuff to listen to, practically any
rock or pop from the 70’s.
Do you have critique partners or beta
readers?
No, for some
reason I’ve never gone that route.
What book are you reading now?
I’m currently
revisiting my youth by rereading, for the first time in years, my collection of
Doc Savage paperback reprints from the old pulp magazines. I have about a
fourth of the initial run of paperback reprints and will be adding to them as I
go.
How did you start your writing career?
This is going
to sound a little cheesy, but I actually began one day when I was nineteen
years old, back in the early eighties. I was off work one day, kind of bored
and couldn’t think of anything to do, so I hauled out my mom’s old Smith Corona
typewriter and sat down to write a short story. And so it began.
Tell us about your next release.
My next release
should be Private License, number five in the Sam Quinton Private Eye Series. I
turned the final manuscript into the publisher about three weeks back and am
waiting on edits to start coming my way. Don’t know for absolute, but the first
four books in the series all came out in March of their respective years, so as
far as I know now this one will be coming out March of next year.
