Everything is connected. Each event happens for a reason.

If you could remote view worlds beyond your own, where would you go?

How far could you reach?

And what would a nefarious organisation do with your abilities?

Tahra Mamoun has always known she was different. When she discovers powerful remote viewing abilities, the enigmatic businessman, Max Richardson, rescues her from a miserable existence to work at The Institute. She discovers her ikigai in the form of brilliant physics professor, Dr Paul Eldridge, seizing a unique opportunity to play a major role in a mind-bending project.

Tahra must navigate worlds beyond as a chosen one, pitting her wits against aliens with agendas in a series of quests that challenge her faith and her deepest fears.

Written in the style of a TV series, Seven Point Eight has a twist of sci-fi intrigue which combines love, betrayal and ambition with psychic powers, stunning alien worlds, ancient secrets and quantum physics in a soap opera for the soul.

Interviews

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Time is my biggest enemy. I work a full-time job as an academic coordinator and teacher, and writing deadlines are difficult to meet.

What are your most played songs?

I have a playlist of songs that mean something personally or are connected to the book. ‘Holiday’ by Confidence Man because it reminds me of the long vacation in Turkey, ‘One Perfect Sunrise’ by Orbital, ‘Tidal Wave’ by Sub-Focus for my nephew who passed away, plus ‘True Romance’ by Citizens, to name a few.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

My husband! He’s actually really tough and brutally honest. We’ve argued a few times about parts of the book!

What book are you reading now?

I have so little free time for reading because I devote it to writing. Few books actually hold my interest, and I have a really short attention span.

How did you start your writing career?

I enjoyed creative writing as a child and teenager, but I originally started publishing in 2011. However, I had a long hiatus and decided to commit myself to writing as a long-term plan.

Tell us about your next release.

Tahra Mamoun has a spin-off mini-series called ‘The Tahra Files,’ and I decided to expand on some of her early adventures when she first developed her abilities. The first one titled ‘The Remote Eye’ launches later this month. If you subscribe to my email list, you’ll get early access.

The second book of the Seven Point Eight series is due later this year, and it follows the aftermath of Project OOBE. Tahra faces a new set of challenges, although with various twists and turns on her path. I’m currently working on the second draft of ‘Seven Point Eight: Virago.’

About the Author

K.M. Gruchelska is a speculative fiction writer who travels extensively, having lived in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. Her career has been varied and exciting, from a stint as a fitness instructor, to working abroad teaching English as a Foreign Language in schools and universities. She is currently based in Uzbekistan, where she coordinates a centre for academic writing.

She is a child of the world, full of conjecture and imagination, and she regards herself as a global citizen. Her characters and situations reflect the diversity and wonder that she experiences during her travels, combined with a philosophical flavour and human drama.

In everyday terms, she enjoys different cuisines and making bougie tea, and has a cat that she adopted from Saudi Arabia. She considers the cat to be her soul animal because she hates water but loves tuna. Her secret dream is to own a pancake bar and an English school.
