INTERVIEW
Can you tell us a little about the process of getting this book published? How did you come up with the idea and how did you start?
I had determined several years ago that I was accumulating information and life experiences through the many industries, projects and world travel that I was involved with and it could be beneficial to others. I was already being paid and sought out to assist with these things, so what better way than to encapsulate into a book or books.
Several people, including board members, also expressed they thought I should write a book. One of my board members knew a publisher – Elite Publishing and introduced us. After a several encouragements from the publisher I completed the book.
What surprised you most about getting your book published?
There is a lot more to it than you realize and having an experienced publisher takes the complexity out of it and in my experience, made it a really exciting and enjoyabale process.
Tell us a little about what you do when you aren’t writing
I am the President of an international chamber of commerce, so I engage and provide business, community, company and project development. It requires me to travel worldwide and to collaborate with a multitude of industries, business professionals, world leaders, and even royalty.
And I am active with my three sons and various community organizations and projects.
As a published author, what would you say was the most pivotal point of your writing life?
The actual moment when the manuscript was completed and by technicality I could say I had written my book and the rest of the process was now up to the publishers. But another pivotal moment was when it was released and it #1 in its respective categories and the realization that it was not just written, but accomplished and the feeling that I did have knowledge to share with others and it was accepted.
Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?
I get a lot of my ideas while I’m traveling or early in the morning when I am up and the rest of the world is sleeping as I put it.
What is the toughest criticism given to you as an author?
I believe it was from someone who knew me quite well and reviewed the book and said you have much more to write than this. Although this is good, this isn’t the intense details and experiences that I alone have seen you experience. You need to go deeper and/or write more.
What has been your best accomplishment as a writer?
The feedback from people who have read it responded how it made them feel, and even others whom I haven’t heard from in years reached out to communicate having heard about the book.
How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?
I believe I have at least three other books in the plan or various developmental stages.
