Inspired by Jesus's parable of the lost sheep, 'Hundredth' is the second book in the 'Pillow Stories from Heaven' series, sharing an imaginative retelling from the lost sheep's perspective. At bedtime with family or in a group, both children and parents will delight in listening to the unusual adventures of Hundredth as he goes from one personal transformation to the next. In the end, 'Hundredth' will lead the audience into deeper reflection and create opportunity for conversation.

INTERVIEW

What was your main drive to write this book?
Inspiration. Stories come to me as a response to something or some kind of interaction with
people in real life.

What do you hope readers will learn by reading this book?
I hope they will get new insights and perspectives on life, especially its spiritual dimensions.

Did you do much research when planning this book?
Yes. The physical world, environment, science of it—the stories got to be based is solid
reality.

Did you have any main people who helped you in the process of this book or influenced you
to write it?
Yes, my wonderful wife, Aly, eager to listen to my read-throughs and providing me with a
feedback.

How long did this book take you to write from initial thought to hitting publish?
That’s a little more difficult to answers. The writing of the actual story didn’t take me long
at all—it’s a short children’s story. Usually when I get the main idea, I’m able to write it in
one sitting, then just keep working on it. Originally it was written for live audience and a
blog, without a plan to put it in a book format. Over the time I did many changes and
improvements—that’s the usual life of a story. And then we published it in a children’s
picture book format.

Do you have plans to write more about this topic or new topics?
Yes, I do. That refers to the specific style and genre, not necessarily a theme or topic.
However, for some of the short stories I developed a whole series with the same main
characters and storyline in my mind. Time permitting, and if I could justify it, I could write
it. That covers the thematic continuation. I also came up with a new story that is a negative
mirror image of one of my stories. A Call from Above is a short story about an eaglet
growing up as a chicken. I came up with a story outline of a chick who dreams to flying. It’s
a really fun, and tragic in some way, story. But we love it.
